To make high-quality clothing, you need to use thread with superpowers. A natural thread's quality mostly comes down to the length of its fibres. At Petit Bateau, we select long fibres. Believe us when we say they're hard to find, but this choice not noticed by the customer makes ALL the difference. A solid thread means a tightly-woven piece of clothing which is REALLY made for children <3
WHAT ARE THE KEY MANUFACTURING STAGES FOR CREATING A PETIT BATEAU PRODUCT?
It all starts with a farmer growing the fibres (cotton mainly). At Petit Bateau, we select long fibres that produce high-quality fabrics. The cotton is deseeded, then put in a spinning machine that turns it into thread. The thread is then knitted together to make the fabric. At Petit Bateau, we knit 38% of the fabrics in our collections at our Troyes factory. The fabric is then dyed. The final stage is making up the clothes, which mainly happens in Morocco, where fabrics are cut out, laid out ready and assembled.
