What's behind our fleece fabric?
Fleece is the most appealing member of the knitted fabric family! The principle of knitting fleece is simple: two threads are required. The first knits a succession of stitches on the right side, and the second knits floats on the reverse side, making the fabric soft and thick.
What are the different types of fleece Petit Bateau uses?
For example, at Petit Bateau, we mainly use cotton fiber yarns to make different types of fleece:
Lightweight fleece offers the perfect combination of lightness and comfort. It can be found both in our daywear, such as sweatshirts and dresses, and in our nightwear, for example, pyjamas.
Fleece is ultra-soft and supple and wonderfully comfortable to wear. At Petit Bateau, you can find it in baby items, including sleeping bags and jumpsuits.
Fleece and/or brushed fleece are produced using a technique that combines brushing on the front for a fluffy feel and/or brushing on the back for even more comfort, warmth and softness. We often use this fabric in warm pyjamas for cosy winter nights and for our sweatshirts that are comfortable all day long.
